Books closed every month, while you sleep.
Monthly bookkeeping, AP and AR, reconciliations, sales tax workings and management reporting for US businesses and CPA firms — run from Pune in QuickBooks Online or Xero. Your tax returns stay with your CPA. The books stop being the bottleneck.
We are an Indian firm. US federal and state tax returns are prepared and filed by your CPA or EA. Our work is the accounting layer underneath. Arrangement as on 03 Aug 2026.
Two very different reasons to call us.
These are genuinely different engagements, so it's worth saying which one you are before anything else.
You need the books kept, properly
An LLC, S-corp or growing company that wants clean monthly books and numbers you can act on — without hiring a bookkeeper or waiting until tax season to find out where you stand.
- Monthly bookkeeping in your existing QuickBooks Online or Xero
- Bank, credit card and merchant account reconciliation
- Accounts payable and receivable, with ageing you can act on
- Sales tax workings across the states where you have obligations
- 1099 data prepared and reconciled ahead of January
- Monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash flow your CPA can work from
You need capacity through busy season
A practice that wants a delivery layer behind your own brand — particularly between January and April, when hiring for the peak makes no sense the rest of the year.
- Work delivered on your software, to your workpaper standards
- Your file naming, your review points, your client contact
- Write-up and clean-up work off your team's plate
- Seasonal capacity without a permanent hire
- Confidentiality terms agreed before any client file moves
What we do, and what stays with your CPA.
Being clear about this upfront saves a difficult conversation in March.

- 1099 filing with the IRS

Most clients already have a CPA. We work alongside them rather than around them.
We are an Indian accounting firm. We are not a US CPA firm, we do not hold US licensure or IRS practitioner status, and we do not provide US tax advice or file US returns. Our work is the accounting that sits underneath those filings.
The gap that looks like a problem is the product.
Nine and a half hours from the East Coast, twelve and a half from the West. Work you send at close is picked up while your office is dark and waiting when you open — which turns a queue into an overnight cycle. For a CPA firm in February, that is the difference between clearing the backlog and carrying it. Everything runs in the software you already use, so there is no migration, nothing for your clients to relearn, and nothing that has to be unwound if the arrangement changes.
What it looks like month to month.
We work in yours
QuickBooks Online and Xero are the most common, alongside Bill.com, Dext, Gusto, Stripe, Shopify and Amazon Seller Central. No migration is required.
Marketplace settlements reconciled
Platform payouts arrive net of fees, refunds and tax collected. Each element is separated and reconciled rather than booked as revenue.
Workings, not determinations
We track what was collected where and prepare the working. Whether you have nexus in a state, and the filing itself, sits with your CPA.
On your systems
Access is granted on your platforms under your control, with confidentiality and data-handling terms agreed before any access is given.
A fixed monthly close
Books closed and the reporting pack delivered on an agreed date each month, rather than whenever the queue clears.
The same person
A named accountant on your file, reachable on WhatsApp and email, with an overlap window agreed at the start.
Four steps, small first.
Scoping call
Transaction volume, software, states you sell into, who your CPA is, and what you actually want off your desk.
Written scope
What sits with us, what stays with your CPA, the monthly delivery date and the fee — agreed before anything begins.
Pilot month
One month or one client file, so you can judge output quality and turnaround before anything larger moves.
Monthly rhythm
Books closed on the agreed date, reporting pack delivered, queries answered in the overlap window.
What US clients ask before starting.
Are you a US CPA firm?
No. TaxKitab is an accounting firm based in India. We are not licensed in the United States, we do not hold IRS practitioner status, and we do not provide US tax advice or file US returns. We do the bookkeeping and accounting work that sits underneath those filings, and your CPA or EA handles the rest.
Do you file our sales tax returns?
We prepare the working — what was collected, in which state, reconciled to the books. Nexus determinations and the filing itself sit with your CPA, because both are judgement calls with liability attached.
Can you handle 1099s?
We prepare and reconcile the vendor data through the year so January isn't a scramble — vendor classification, W-9 tracking, amounts by payee. The filing with the IRS is made by you or your CPA.
We sell on Amazon and Shopify. Can you reconcile that?
Yes. Platform payouts come through net of fees, refunds, chargebacks and tax collected. Each of those is separated and reconciled monthly, rather than the deposit being booked as revenue.
How does the time difference actually work?
India is nine and a half hours ahead of the East Coast and twelve and a half ahead of the West. Work sent at your close is progressed overnight and waiting when you open, with a live overlap window agreed at the start.
Can we try it before committing?
Yes, and we'd recommend it. A pilot on one month or one client file costs little and tells you more than any proposal will.
